Kim Chungong is a first-generation Cameroonian-American from Kansas City, Missouri who graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations. Due to her love of storytelling and art, she aspired to become an art director until she joined the Mosaic-award-winning Barkley Creative Accelerator program in 2021. As a creative apprentice at BarkleyOKRP, she discovered her knack for copywriting and wrote for clients such as Red Lobster, Motel 6, and ARAG Legal Insurance. She was then promoted to a full-time copywriter position in BarkleyOKRP’s social media department where she now works primarily for Planet Fitness. As a social media writer, she’s helped create social campaigns that have gone on to win Clio and Reggie awards and collaborated with superstars like Megan Thee Stallion.

Growing up and seeing a lack of diverse representation and working in a predominately white industry, Kim has used her position to pitch ideas that challenge the norm and highlight issues and minority groups that don’t get attention in mainstream media, such as health disparities in the black community or the importance of safe spaces for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
