Mariana Atencio is a Peabody award-winning journalist and author, who worked as an anchor for Univision and national correspondent for NBC.Originally from Venezuela, her work on the Latino community earned her 3 Emmy nominations, a Hillman Prize and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists’ Presidential Award. Mariana is a spokesperson for the American Latino Museum in DC and a 2021 Henry Crown fellow at the Aspen Institute. Her Tedx Talk has been seen over 23 million times. She recently released the top-ranked podcast “Lost in Panama” an investigation into femicide in Central America.
